主要刊登国内外古地理学及其相关学科或相关学术领域的文章，如岩相古地理学、生物古地理学、构造古地理学、层序地层学及古地理学、第四纪古地理学、人类历史时期古地理学、古今地理环境与人类文明、沉积学、沉积环境、沉积相、古生态、古构造、古地貌、古气候、古水文、古岩溶、古土壤、古地理学研究方法和技术等学科和学术领域的科研成果的论文，以及以这些学科或学术领域的理论、观点和方法论述石油、天然气、煤炭、水、化工材料、建筑材料、其他金属与非金属矿产资源的预测、勘探、开发和环境等方面的论文。

 

古地理学报是由中国石油大学和中国矿物岩石地球化学学会共同主办的地学类学术性期刊，1999年创刊；主要刊登国内外古地理学及其相关学科或相关学术领域的文章，以及以这些学科或学术领域的理论、观点和方法论述石油、天然气、煤炭、水、化工材料、建筑材料、其他金属与非金属矿产资源的预测、勘探、开发以及环境等方面的论文；主要栏目有岩相古地理学及沉积学、生物古地理学及古生态学、构造古地理学及古构造学、第四纪古地理学、人类历史时期古地理学、地球化学及沉积环境、古气候、古水文、古土壤、古岩溶、古今地理环境与人类文明、古地理及矿产资源、新技术及新方法等；为古地理学的持续发展和创新、更有效地为生产建设服务和为维护及改善人类生存的地理环境做出贡献。

Journal of Palaeogeography is a geoscientific academic periodical which is sponsored by China University of Petroleum and Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry and was started in 1999. It mainly publishes domestic and international papers of palaeogeography and its relative academic fields. It also publishes papers discussing on the prediction, exploration and development of oil, gas, coal, water, chemical materials, architecture materials, other metal and nonmetal mineral resources by the theories, viewpoints and methods of palaeogeography and its relative academic fields. The main entries of Journal of Palaeogeography include lithofacies palaeogeography and sedimentology, biopalaeogeography and palaeoecology, tectonopalaeogeography and palaeotectonics, Quaternary palaeogeography, human history palaeogeography, geochemistry and sedimentary environments, palaeoclimatology, palaeohydrology, palaeosol, ancient and present geographic environments and human civilization, palaeogeography and mineral resources, new techniques and new methods, etc. It aims at contributing for the continual development and innovation of palaeogeography, furthermore effective service for production and construction, and the maintenance and improvement of humankind living environments.
