Asian Herpetological Research （AHR） is a quarterly publication established in 2010. Historically， AHR started as the journal Acta Herpetologica Sinica （in Chinese）which the Chengdu Institute of Biology， Chinese Academy of Sciences （CIB） began publishing in China in 1977， and ceased publishing in 1988. In 1990， Acta Herpetologica Sinica was named as Chinese Herpetological Research （in English）， and then was published by the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology， University of California at Berkeley， USA， as an international journal for the Chinese Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles （CSSAR）. In 1990–2008， the journal was renamed Asiatic Herpetological Research and published by the Asiatic Herpetological Research Society （AHRS） and CSSAR at the same Museum， with the last issue being Volume 11 published by CIB and AHRS also in USA.
AHR is now published by CIB and Science Press in China in cooperation with AHRS， and has an international Editorial Board consisting of specialists from many countries around the world.
