Current Zoology (formerly Acta Zoologica Sinica, founded in 1935) is a bimonthly, peer-reviewed international journal of zoology. It publishes primary research papers in all fields of zoological sciences. Once accepted, the manuscripts will be published in less than four months. The journal has been an important medium for zoologists from China and other countries to communicate research results and discuss challenging scientific questions. It has a large readership, including the more than 12 thousand members of the China Zoological Society. Although it publishes papers in either Chinese or English languages, the journal particularly welcomes contributions in English to promote more effective scientific communication and the internationalization process of this journal.
This journal is indexed in several major indexing systems, such as Zoological Records, BIOSIS, Chemical Abstracts and Journal Abstracts. Other international indexing systems or data bases include Aquatic Science and Fishery Abstracts (ASFA) and Aquatic Science and Fishery Information Source (ASFIA), Cambridge Scientific Abstracts, Zoological Record, Bibliography of Reproduction, Veterinary Index, Protozoological Abstracts, Helminthological Abstracts, Ornithological Abstracts, Recent Progress in Life Sciences, Recent Bibliography of Schistosoma, Tropical Medicine Quarterly, WHO Medical Bulletin, etc. In China, Acta Zoologica Sinica is covered by Fauna, Chinese Encydopedia Yearbook, Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), Chinese Science and Technology Paper and Citation Database, Bibliographical Index of Zoological Journals, Bibliographical Index of Ornithology, Chinese Science Abstracts, Chinese Biological Abstracts, Chinese Medical Abstracts, Reproduction and Contraception Abstracts, Oceonographical Abstracts, Aquatic Product Abstracts, Bibliography of Parasitology, General Survey of Main Topics in Chinese Core Journals, etc. According to the official report issued by Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China, the impact factor of Acta Zoologica Sinica is 0.553 for the year 2002, 0.873 for the year 2003, 1.061 for the year 2004.
ACTA ZOOLOGICA SINICA was awarded the second prize of National Excellent Scientific Journals in 1992 and 1996, the second prize of Excellent Journals of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1985, 1990, 1992 and 1996, the second prize of Excellent Journals of China Association for Science and Technology in 1992, and the honorary title of "One-hundred Top National Journals" in 2002.
The Journal of Molecular Cell Biology (JMCB) is an international peer-reviewed journal, which is interested in inter-disciplinary studies at the cross-sections between molecular and cell biology as well as other disciplines of life sciences such as stem cell research, signaling transduction, genetics, epigenetics, genomics, developmental biology, immunology, cancer biology, molecular pathogenesis, neuroscience, and systems biology. The broad scope of JMCB reflects the current merging trend of life science disciplines and contributes to the dissemination of findings with unusual significance and broad scientific interest. High quality research articles, reviews, letters to the editor, and other commentaries on timely issues are published in Special Issues (e.g. vol3_no1) and Collections (e.g. vol3_no4).
JMCB features an outstanding Editorial Board, which will serve as scientific advisors to the journal and provide strategic guidance for the development of the journal. By selecting only the best papers for publication, JMCB will provide a first rate publishing forum for scientists all over the world.
